YouTube Premium family plans are unavailable in South Korea. In supported countries, the manager can share with up to five members at the same residential address, subject to account and family-group requirements. This guide separates that Korean availability question from eligibility elsewhere; a GamsGo invitation or recharge label does not establish official family-plan permission.
Final verification: August 17, 2026 (KST) · Based on the official YouTube Help Center and GamsGo product pages. Plan availability and products offered may change by country.
Key conclusion
- According to official YouTube Help, the family plan is currently unavailable in South Korea.
- In supported countries, the family manager can invite up to five family members who live at the same residential address.
- The manager and members must not have changed to another family group within the past 12 months.
- Google Workspace accounts cannot be used to start or join a family plan.
- External products such as GamsGo may be provided differently from the official family plan, so you should check the product details.
Which country question does this guide answer?
- South Korea: family-plan unavailability does not mean every paid YouTube plan is unavailable. Check the separate individual or Lite offering and actual account terms.
- A supported family-plan country: confirm plan availability, same address, account type and group-change history. A country’s presence in the general Premium list is not proof that its family plan is offered.
- Prices outside Korea: Korean prices are not converted substitutes. The existing comparison tool retains each country’s evidence date; unverified prices stay unfilled.

Same-household policy
YouTube describes the family plan as a product for family members who live at the same residential address. Since members use their own Google Accounts, their personal libraries, subscriptions, recommendations, and watch histories remain separate by account. However, Premium access may be suspended if YouTube cannot verify that members live in the same household.

What options are available in South Korea?
Checked 2026-10-18: South Korea is not listed among the countries where YouTube student memberships are available. Do not assume a student plan is available in South Korea; check the official plans and eligibility displayed for the actual account. Student discounts elsewhere require a supported country and student verification. This guide does not provide methods to bypass country or residence restrictions using a VPN. In Korea, compare Premium Lite first if your main need is ad-free viewing, background play and downloads for ordinary non-music videos. These Lite features exclude music and Shorts, and YouTube Music Premium is not included. If you need music benefits, compare the total cost of Premium, including any separate music subscription you already pay.

When comparing GamsGo
GamsGo's YouTube products may be presented as family-group invitations, account top-ups, or other forms of provision. Do not assume they are the same as the official family plan; check the region, activation method, account ownership, group-change restrictions, and warranty and refund policies. GamsGo may advertise discounts of up to 70% on YouTube products, but this is not a fixed discount rate guaranteed for every term and account.

Family-management clauses partially checked on 2026-10-25: the official plan remains unavailable in South Korea and requires the same residence where supported. Members use their own Google accounts. Check current group and the previous 12 months’ group changes; leaving or deleting a group does not reset the restriction. Seller top-ups and family invitations have separate support routes.
